ÚNICO SENTIDO

Mário Macilau returns to Luanda with photography, poetry, installation and painting to reveal a single sense, a single basis and point of observation for the reaction of human behaviour to facts, moments and contexts.

The artist follows the course of local and global decisions, more or less arbitrary, that lead to similar but simultaneously antagonistic extremes. A sense that leads him to a bipolar world: equal and different in terms of thoughts, reactions, experiences and subterfuges.

Mozambique and Angola are geographically distinct but similar territories. The Only Sense chosen by Macilau reveals the same way of acting and reacting to everyday life and the world between these two countries. It denounces a certain selective blindness that overshadows the closest reality, but is shrewd when scrutinising distant realities.
